Well as you will know for the last couple of years I have been having treatment for Brain tumours. I have finished my treatment (radiation and chemo) a few months ago and am getting back to normal. All my scans have been showing very promising results. I’ll even be back to be allowed to drive a car again in April next year.
We have brought a house on 1.8 hectares in Waitoki, not long I got sick, just inland from Silverdale, on the outskirts of Auckland It is a lovely house, almost brand new, but basically on a bare block of land. Fiona has been kept busy on the weekends planting an Olive grove, beds of Lavenders and lots of Lombardo poplars around the fence line in the past year. My new favourite toy is the ride on lawn mower which takes about 2 – 3 hours to get round every 2 weeks or so.
I was getting into a lot endurance type sports before I got sick, cycling, Mountain biking, rogains (sounds like a hair loss product but is like easy orientating with a lot of running) with my biggest cycle ride being 160kms around Lake Taupo.
We have 2 cats. A big boy Max and smaller girl Molly. Unfortunately one of our goats passed away recently, Nancy. We still have Maggie and Greta aged 9 years.
Fiona is still working hard at Telecom and I am still working for Maxwell Winches now Maxwell Marine (we also make hatches)
Fiona is playing hockey again this year whilst I have had an excuse to take it easy.
Dad has brought a house looking down into Browns bay, Its probably 50 years old and Tommy is enjoying himself renovating it.
We recently had a trip to Sydney for 3 days, with visits to Watson’s bay and Doyle’s seafood restaurant (highly recommend) and out to the Blue Mountains to try the scenic railway etc.
